Overclocking Intel Q9400

I have just got this CPU at weekend and i know that it is capable of being overclocked to a lot more than it is standard as it is 2.66GHz at the moment what would be a safe amount to go up to as i have it running a Arctic Cooling Rev2 and i idle at 36/37/36/37 and at 54/56/53/55 on load this is at stock so just wanted to know how high to go as i do it in bios changing from 200 fsb to a new value.

There is no safe amount to OC. The more you do the shorter its life span. Plus you will be visiting me ( i do blue screens of death) after a few short days.

why do you want to OC?

TBH thats not completely true as sure it can shorten life span but as i never change voltage so it dont really shorten it and i have done it to my previous E5400 and that was fine OC to 3.24 from 2.7 and that has been like it for a year and a half and still running fine so no it wont blue screen as i have done it before and sure it does so that but not if you go up a little bit at a time and know the limit. Also i asked how much people have gone up by not should I? and reason for OC is that the performance increases as im a gamer so all increase in performance is good not that i really need a reason.
