    Enable SMART HDD Data?

I have several programs which will show me SMART HDD data (Seagate IDE and WD SATA) when I run them in XP.

In Windows 7, they only show SMART HDD data for my Seagate IDE drive. I was able to get them running in the Windows 7 (b7100) version (I played with so many things, I don't know what enabled it). Running the programs in XP compatibility mode doesn't help.

Do I need to download a specific dll or change a setting in Windows to enable SMART HDD data?

    Note:
I triple boot Ubuntu 10.04, XP SP3 and Windows 7.

I've had this problem before and I don't remember if I found a solution to it or not. I will look around a bit for you.

I do remember someone telling me at one point it's the way Windows interacts with the drive and if the software you are using is designed to run with Windows 7 or not. You might also want to try running the program as an administrator if you have not already.

    Thanks jelyman.:)

I have found that I have to run all of my monitor programs as "Administrator". I did get them working for a couple of months, but they refuse to work correctly at the moment. I have updated my BIOS and I have tried to get new drivers (Windows 7 says I have the latest ones).
