I am looking at getting an Solid State Drive to run just my OS on Windows 7 Home Premium. I have found a 30gb solid state drive and an 64gb drive, is the 30gb would the 30gb be big enough or would it be better to g for the 64GB drive?

There is absolutely no need to go with the 60GB drive unless it is a laptop. My win7 hovers around 17GB since 10/09 - with 1558 folders in the Program files. I moved my own data to another partition and eliminated the Hibernation file but kept the page file - that is all the tweaking I did. Oh and yes, I reenabled Superfetch that the Win7 installer had disabled. You will be fine with the 30GB OCZ or the 40GB Intel. They sell for +/- $100. The bigger models, however, are a smidget faster. Especially the 120GB OCZ Vertex series.
Now I would advise an a minimum of 80GB.
But as you can see from three replies there are three different opinions all based on our own usage, I suggest looking at your current usage now and base your decision from that.

I agree with whs.
I use the Intel x25-V 40GB for my OS. It is more than enough room.
With a 2GB PF, hyberfile diasabled and all other apps installed, It still has 19GB free space.
In all reality the Intel 40GB is only 7GB more space than the Vertex. intel shows space as traditional HDs do, OCZ shows the actual useable space.
I also have a OCZ Vertex 30Gb for Documents and a a couple games, with all other user folders/DATA on spinning drives.
Either are good choices and excellent drives at the value price point.
I prefer the Intel myself for the OS as it has a little more breathing room, and is slightly faster.
i do not know much about the Kingston, but can highly reccomend either of these 2.
Everything depends upon what you install. I've got the 80GB Intel, and after a load I'm usually sitting around 50GB free...so I use about 20-24GB total on the drive. If you are a gamer, you will need more space than some of the others...for example....a 30GB would be very very tight with games.
