I tried to connect my sony camcorder to my toshiba laptop thru the s400 port with a firewire. I am using windows 7 and the computer will not even recognize camera! I have the exact setup on my Viao laptop with vista and it works very well. I cant get anyone to answer this question. Please help. Thanks

Hi wildworks and welcome to the Forum. Have you got a CD that came with your camera. If so install it on your laptop. You may have to go to the Sony website to get the latest software for Windows 7. Are you wanting to capture your video clips via the firewire port, if so what program will you use?

Does the port recognize any other hardware?
