Sorry Wolfgang, but you're thinking of Vista/7. This guy is using XP, and there are only 3 commands:

list shadows

list writers

list providers

Thanks Jonathan, Uhh, XP - I missed that part. Sorry. I guess the OP can scrap my suggestion. The shadowstorage in XP is too small to create that problem.

Hi
Are you using FAT32 or NTFS as your file system on the drive?

Try SpaceMonger, it'll show you the "correct" size of a folder in your volume...

Ps. I tried WinDirStat only to find it almost too confusing, not to mention it took quite some time to process...

so how do i get rid of that 43.3 gb? the system info in my C drive is less than 1 gb, so why would the S drive system info take up so much space?

Right Click My Computer / Properties / System Restore
Turn it off for all drives and reboot. Check the drive space again

If it is still there,, try a Disk Clean up
Right Click C: Drive / Properties / Click Disk Cleanup
Click on More Options / System Restore / Clean Up...

If this doesn't get rid of it.....

Right click the Folder in Question/ Properties
Click Security / then Add
Click Advanced / Find Now
Find your account and select it / Click OK
Click Ok again
Check the box for Full Control and click ok
You should be able to access the folder now,, or just try to delete the whole thing
This should work.

It will recreate itself on a reboot, or before.

You can also check the size of the System Restore and change the size, or just leave it off.
The System Volume Info folder will be recreated no matter what you do, but should not gain any size.

I do not know why it has gotten that big, normally it shouldn't, unless this is some other type of folder due to some app.
