AMD64 = 64-bit
I386 = 32-bit

You'll see AMD64 referred to quite a bit with 64-bit related files/folders on Windows. Its quite normal.

My buddy Chris posted not to long back a bit more information about 'AMD64'. Take a look; Why is Windows reporting AMD64?

Intel uses AMD's method of 64 bit processing, since it was much closer to true x64 then Intel's method was. In fact Intel's own design (Itanium) wasn't backwards compatible with 32 bit. AMD generated a good amount of buzz with AMD64 even though it wasnt too useful at that time, so Intel decided not to reinvent the wheel and just used AMD's way.

AMD to Intel. Transferring files to new HDD
I have my old AMD HDD and I'd like to transfer the files (minus the AMD stuff) to a brand new HDD so I can boot with it without blue screening. How can I achieve this? I have already installed Windows 7 on the new HDD but if that's not the right thing to do I can format it again.
