    Mixed memory in DG45ID 2 x 2GB and 2 x 4GB

    Hi
I have just taken delivery of two 4GB sticks to add to my exisiting 2x2Gb sticks. BIOS shows 12GB total but Win 7 won't load.
RAM has been checked with Memtest 86 and is ok.
I've read that 2GB is 512k ram and 4GB is 1GB ram? Are they incompatible?
Fresh install won't run with both so I'm doign a fresh install with just the 2 x 4GB sticks.
    Any ideas?

Your RAM should be matching sticks.

Such as corsair or all kingston.

The values can be different. Such as running 2 1gigs with 2 2gigs sticks.

But they should all be the same speed. Such as all DDR2800 or 1066

IF they are differnet "brands" that can cause problems faster then anything.

They may well be of the same brand, but they are sufficiently different enough so that they are incompatible with each other. Sorry.
