Procie does not have speedstep, only C1e which if idle goes to x6 multi, heres a screenie, is ther a fix for this?
Since the Q8400 native speed is 2.66GHz Windows 7/Vista WILL display that for processor speed, regardless of the actual "overclocked" speed..
Example I have a i7-930 overclocked to 3.52, but Windows is only recognizing the default speed of 2.80GHz.
It's been that way since Vista.
Hope this helps.
Impossible, I know I had it working some time ago
EDIT: I changed my motherboard! Argh! I dont know if that caused the problem, I dont want to reinstall just for this
Reinstalling your OS is NOT the solution, check to see that your mobo supports automatic clock setting for your CPU or if you need to set a jumper since you are comparing apples to oranges seeing different timings with a different mobo.
Dude you can change all the motherboards you wan't, Windows 7/Vista will only use the default speed of the processor. In XP you would see your overclocked speed, but NOT in Windows 7/Vista.
Anybody here with an overclocked processor under Win 7/Vista will confirm this!
Maybe this is possible with a "hack" job, I don't know, but this is "normal" behavior under Win 7/Vista.
Good luck on your quest.
