Windows 7: locate hard-drive in tower?

i think what the OP is after is away to get the data off the hdd ,i think what the op is trying to say is my pc is fubarred ineed the info off the drive

What is simple for you may not be for others? I think we have explained it but are still getting questions. I believe that is why Karl made his suggestion.

You get no disagreement from me on that; however, it does rob the OP of that sense of accomplishment. Since he's half-way there already, why not see the job through?

If this was about installing a new CPU, then for sure I'd say get the experienced friend to show you how, but since we're talking about a dead machine and an old hard drive...
