    2 gb of ram?


    Hello all, I have decided to buy a stick of ddr2 240 pin ram it is 2gb. I was wondering will it work with my board. All the specs check out except it is 2 gb. please help.

    you can use CPU-Z to see what speed your current Ram is running at. you want to select RAM that has the same speed because RAM is set to the speed of the slowest stick you have.

    You might also want to check your motherboard brand and and see if there is a page online for compatible RAM

    here is info on your Motherboard. It supports up to 8GB of PC2-4300 , PC2-5300 , PC2-6400

    Edit: It also looks like you have only 2 slots. and you might have 2x 512mb sticks in. So if you buy a 2GB stick, you will have to take out one of the 512mb sticks. Its also not recommended to mix-match RAM either. It probably will be fine, but sometimes systems have problems with this.
