my printer doesn't work on seven?
can anyone help me to fix my problem like this
can anyone help me to fix my problem like this
First of all what make and model is your printer, this is quite important .
Secondly how did you install it, Windows Printer installer or a dedicated installer?
Oli
Follow the instructions at Install the Software on how to install you printer correctly.
Before you do however perform a system restore to before you installed your printer (System Restore).
The driver provided on Windows Update is not a complete driver and thus doesn't work very well (or at all) so the one on the disk should be used; it is bad practice to rely on Windows update for drivers because the drivers are often incomplete or out of date.

alright then, I will try it...
by the way, thank you very much for your solution
No problem, remember to post back even if it works.
As you are new to the forum I thought you might like to know how to mark threads as solved as well as the uses of some of the other buttons.
To the top right of this post you will see 3 icons. An orange (+), a set of scales and a red and white warning triangle.
The orange (+) or blue (-) denotes whether a user is on or offline (orange = on, blue = off).
The scales are used to give rep points; click this button if someone has helped you significantly or solved your queries (only give this to posts that you think really deserve it).
The red and white warning triangle is used to denote either an abusive post OR to mark a thread as solved (just put solved in the box that comes up and the admins or moderators will mark it solved).
Be sure to mark this thread solved when you know for sure that the printer is installed correctly.

No problem guys; I have a lot of experience with printer installations, it's a big part of my job, and you guys are lucky because it usually costs people £20/$30 an hour for me to fix their printer issues (I am one of those dawdling tech support guys, yes ).

Oh and also dulvan I thought you might like to know how to mark threads as solved and what some of the other buttons do and mean, this is especially useful for people who aren't familiar with forums.

I hope you find this helpful and I will mark the thread solved.
