Windows Seven Overcloking problem

Hello

I installed recently windows seven . I was having Xp so i make a dual boot . My OC was working perfectly in XP but in windows seven 3dmark vantage crash .

My system is :

Antec 1200
MSI P7N platinium V1.3 driver nforce 15.23 for vista
E8400 @3,7Ghz
Corsair 3G ddr2 PC6400 8400 @830Mhz
PSU cooler master 1000W
SLi MSI 9800GTX+ : Driver 185.85
2 HDD SATA

I go to the bios and i reset all the modification of my OC (default settings) . After that 3dmark Vantage works . But when i relead my OC in the BIOS i tried to launch 3dmark Vantage and it works !!!!!
The thing i don't undernstand is when i turned off my PC and power on the 3dmark vantage crash . I have to releod the defaults settings , restart the computer and reload the value of my OC for 3dmark works again

Someone can tell me why

? I just have to turn off my pc and power on for 3dmark crashing .

XP works perfect and 3dmar06 works perfect too.

Just because it crashes on Windows 7 and not XP is not really relevant, you can't really compare the two and you cant run Vantage on XP anyway and it's not taking advantage of DX10 either, which is being used when you run Vantage, if anything is affecting Vantage crashing it would be your Video card, have you overclocked that as well?

If so then try changing it a little and try again, I have Vantage and it crashes sometimes when I have to much of an overclock or if it's to much out of sinc on my Video card, but it's hit and miss sometimes you will have a successful run and other times it will crash, you just need to find the sweet spot.

ya ur post was really hard to follow.

so you have the P7N. thats like the 750i right.

also what voltage are you running that 3.7 Ghz at? so the same voltage was stable in XP, but not in 7.. is it not the overclock thats unstable. or is it 3DMark that is crashiing??

Hello

My motherboard have the nforce 750i sli . I installed the nforce vista driver wich is the 15.25. My voltage at 3,7 GHZ stable for XP is a Vcore of 1.36V . It's just the 3dmark Vantage who is crashing before the second test. I don't launch 3dmark Vantage in XP OS lol . Of course i launch it whith seven .

My probleme is when i power off after power on my computer 3dmark crash . I have to set the bios at default settings and after releod the stable OC . I think that is a problem of driver beacause i installed the nforce vista driver . I just see in nvdia website that there is a nforce windows 7 driver.

I will try it and come back here . I don't think it's my GPU because i don't OC it and i installed the official 185.85 driver.

Edit : nforce driver for windows seven installed and always the same problem.

Edit 2 : I desactivate my SLI and it work well . Windows seven don't like SLI or it's the driver ????
