Looking for a new AMD motherboard

    Hello everyone!

I'm looking for a new motherboard to replace my current one (in which I need to RMA, long story).

I'm looking for something with AM3 compatibility for my Athlon II X2 240 CPU, also DDR2 compatability. I'm looking for something with onboard graphics, but not something that would be a downgrade from the current motherboard.

My current hardware is listed in my system specs, if you need anymore details let me know. Any suggestions are appreciated! :)

This one doesn't seem all that bad based on some of the reviews..

Thank you for the suggestion. That is essentially my board though, just with one less SATA port and is made by Gigabyte instead of ASUS (like mine). All the good boards I find are DDR3!

I was going to say seems like the newest boards are going DDR3
and you are right as I was comparing it is basically the same except for some lan chip differences and sata..

Indeed, I am thinking of taking the plunge and shelling out for DDR3.. can get 4GB DDR3 1600MHz for $102.99 at newegg.

I was going to say that, depending on the RMA issue, DDR3 is getting pretty cheap price wise and then just sell the DDR2....

Might be better to go with the DDR3 for future upgrade ability and speed...

My intention was to buy replacement parts for what I have now and sell the older parts. My motherboard has a few quirks that need sorting and I'd like to upgrade anyways. So I figured I'd buy a new one, RMA this one, when I get it back, sell it.

Well then, you might as well go for the DDR3 capable board that way you still have the newer socket with on-board video and there are usually always good deals on the memory setup..
