    SD issues

I have a 2GB Kodak SD card that worked fine on Win XP and Vista but in Win 7 it shows as 959 MB.
I have formatted long and short. And also formatted in fat and fat32.
I have found no solutions on the net and all drivers are installed correctly.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

Does it only show it as 959 MB? Or is the storage actually limited to 959 MB?

It sounds like the card has some space on it that is not formatted--in other words, you have a 2GB card that is formatted only to use 1GB.

With the SD card inserted, go to Computer Management > Disk Management and see if you have some un-formatted space on the disk. If so, delete the active partition, then create a partition and make sure to use the full 2GB during the format

I did as you said and it shows that there is 1 partition. Fat32 at 964MB. No empty space.

    Sorry that didn't work.

Not trying to insult, but are you absolutely, positively sure it is a 2GB card?

Understandable, but yes, it is 2GB. It worked like a charm before I went to Win7.

Do you have a camera that you could use to format the card?

Formatted with camera shows 2GB. Put it back into desktop and Win 7 says I need to format before I can use it.

Did you see if you could use it anyway? Same thing happened to me when I connected my phone to my PC (8GB micro sdhc card). I got a message stating that I had to format the card before use, but I pushed Cancel and was able to read and write to the card no problem.
