XBCD drivers for Xbox 360 gamepad

Got my 360 controller 3 days back. Initially installed the Force Feedback driver over the official drivers. To check out the vibration I decided to try it with the Lilypad plugin of PCSX2 and observed that while Xinput worked fine, the Directinput feedback resulted in only the left actuator working for both the small and big motor outputs.

Hence decided to tryout XBCD. So I uninstalled the force feedback driver, did the XBCD installation with admin privileges in test mode, updated with the unsigned driver, ran the setup utility and configured the triggers as separate axes. However, when I tested in with Lilypad, I found that the DirectInput vibration doesn't work at all. Also when I tried it out with X360ce, the DirectInput yet again didn't work while XInput resulted in PCSX2 crashing.

So did I do anything wrong, or is it that XBCD works this way? (Using W7 x64)

My first post... and I'll admit that I don't understand much about drivers etc, so please keep it simple!

I love the idea of using my wired 360 pad, but the sticks 'drift' if they're not returned completely to their neutral position; which is a pain for playing Halo, and things of that nature, because it kills the precision.

I installed XBCD 2.7 (or I think I did...), and I can't make it work. It installed fine (took a couple of minutes, though... felt like a long time) then asked me to restart the PC, which I did. I then launched Halo immediately, to see what the effect had been. The left stick was completely unresponsive, although the rest of the pad seemed to work fine.

I returned to the desktop and tried to run the XBCD Setup Utility.

[CLANG!], and an error; "Error in xbcdsu.dll ... Illegal value: requestedRunLevel".


I then tried to run x360ce.

[CLANG!], and another error; saying that I didn't have MSVCP100.dll.


Any thoughts? Thanks in advance,

Ah. Actually, the triggers aren't working either. And nor is the D-pad. And uninstalling XBCD hasn't helped...!

Bugger. I hope I can get the old drivers back on...

... all the same, help would be deeply appreciated. If I get sort out this infernal drift, I'll have my ideal setup.

Sorry to bump this thread I really need some help, I'm on Windows 7 64-bit and I'm getting BSOD with this.

I've used DSEO, disabled driver signing, ran everything as admin, signed the xbcd.sys file (C Windows System 32 Drivers xbcd.sys), manually updated in Device Manager and it all works fine, works perfectly... until I restart my PC.

When it reboots (still in test mode) as soon as I click on the XBCD Setup, or anything related to the game controller it BSOD's with xbcd.sys message, I can't fix it unless I uninstall the xbcd driver (which defeats the point of having it in the first place)

My USB port isn't overloaded, my PSU is fine, I'm only using 1 other USB port and that's for a G9 mouse.

My CPU, RAM etc etc is 100% stable it's definately not that, any ideas what this could be?

Other people have it working fine on Windows 7 64-bit how come it's not working for me?

I'm doing this with 0.2.7 btw, tried installing (as admin) driver only, and driver with certificate- both give me BSOD after a reboot.

Hope someone can help me I really need this

@ DarkEnergy : Are you trying to use old profiles that you had in an older version of XBCD ? When I wanted to use my old profiles in Win7-64 with version 0.2.7, my PC was freezing badly (no BSOD though, just a plain green screen xD). I have just redone my profiles manually so that the files are compatible with the new version, and it works fine... If that's not corresponding to your problem, then I don't know sorry.

I am trying to install the Xbox 360 pad on my laptop, which is running Windows 7, in 64 bit mode. I have followed the instructions relayed by Zorlac explicitly, but still can not see "Microsoft Common Controller For Windows Class" in the device manager. I have disabled UAC, downloaded XBCD 0.2.7 installer as well as DSEO 1.3b, run the XBCD installer as a system admin., and installed only the drivers. After turning Test Mode on, in DSEO and rebooting I see the watermark. I can see xbcd.sys in the system32 folder as well. I attempt to digitally sign the driver using DSEO, but when I run it I get two errors:

"Can't find 'C:\Windows\makecert.exe" (or something like that). McAfee then tells me it found the "Artemis![random characters]" trojan" and quarantines it. I hear that DSEO fires off false alarms, so I went into msconfig and turned McAfee off, on the startup menu. After trying it again, it gets past that step but then hangs up because it can't find certmgmnt.exe or something like that.

It appears that makecert.exe must be on most windows 7 machines, or people won't be able to get this to work, so the problem is probably related to McAfee, but I don't know how to completely shut it down (albeit only temporarily) for the loading process. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Thanks,

So I get all the way through installing my controller. It's now glowing happily, and when I go to caliberate my controller, nothing happens. I go to click on xbcd setup utility, it won't open. So at the moment, nothing is working, even though my controller (Afterglow) is glowing now and has the Player one section turned on.

I've realized that this hasn't been updated for months and months, but It's the most helpful thread anywhere that I've found on this subject, so I'm sort of hoping against hope, but thanks if anyone knows what's the sitch

The way I got mine to work was to download xpadder and calibrate the controller using that instead of the XBCD.

Tried the step by step on page 1 left by Zorlac. Tried opening the XBCD util and it crashed. Then I lost my start menu and everything. It's just popped up now after about 10 minutes. The system has been running really slow (5 minutes to load a webpage) however, now it seems fine. Is this a normal side affect from the programs being used?

man im having a problem i got windows 7 ultimate 32bit and when i open the xbcd setup to config give me this error (xbcdsu.dll Ilegal Value Request ) that what appear in the message a little help
