    Installing Win7 32bit On A 64bit Machine


    Need to know if I can install Win7 32bit On A 64bit Machine. If so, what are the advantages and disadvantages? Thanks.

    Yes you can

    Advantages
    smaller resources footprint, less problems with drivers, less minimum system requirements

    Dis advantages
    Somewhat slower, can only use ~3,25 gigs of ram even if more is installed

    Yes you can.

    Advantages:
    16bit applications (many old programs are 21bit),
    Can handle less RAM (if you count that as good),
    There is a higher chance of there being a 32bit driver for slightly obscure devices than there is for 64bit drivers.

    Disadvantages:
    Less RAM,
    No 64bit applications (I don't know of many 64bit exclusive apps anyway),
    Less future proof.

    Yes, 64-bit systems can support 32-bit. 32-bit has greater compatibility, while 64-bit is faster if you have at least 4GB of RAM.
