I would say perhaps it is a hardware issue, but without your full specs I cannot be sure.

Hi thizzguy,

Thanks for adding your specs. When you say you reinstalled the keyboard, do you mean you reinstalled the drivers? If not, try updating the input driver via the Device Manager now. Let me know if that helps.

Cheers,

Thizzguy, can you please tell us exactly what you have tried so far? Also, are you running Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?

I just bought a new Dell Vostro 1320 Laptop (13.3' Display) with Windows 7 Pro and I use MS Office 2003 Student and Teacher Edition.

Since I got the new laptop, it has been replaced twice, with Vostro 3300's (updated laptop) with W7 Pro.

Dell cannot explain or fix keyboard problems I'm having. Whether I type in WOrd, Notepad, fill out a form, etc., my keyboard is wild and acts like it's full of hotkeys with special functions. A 't' gets me to "Find and Replace". A 'w' gets me centered and other letters will bring up a new browser window, blank the screen, convert typed words into italics, etc. It's monstrously annoying and Dell has spent over 30 hours with no fix. We have used Malwarebytes and other antivirus scanners to no avail.

If you find a fix to your problem, please let me know and if anyone else out there has a problem like mine, please contact let know how you fixed it.

BTW, I use Roboform for passcards, and I used the Easy Transfer Utility in W7 to transfer properties and data. When I first had the problem, I reinstalled W7 Pro and transferred only data, without settings info with no improvement.
