questions about my ram and cpu overclocking??????

recently rebuilt a broken pc i have and added 2gb pc4200 533mhz in the mobo(that supports ddr2 533-1066mhz) but the ram seems to running as pc-6400 800mhz ram.

when i check speccy and cpu-z my ram shows up as running 400mhz(which means its 800mhz ram)

when i checked my bios it showed the ram as pc6400 800, though there is a manual mode to set it at other mhz.

do u think by default my mobo is oc'ing my ram? its running perfectly stable and not hot should i let it be?

also my cpu that i put in this fix was a athlon II x2 215 2.7ghz. the mulitpler is locked though my mobo(asrock) has a fuction for easy overclocked in the bios. the numbers go in 5% like 5 10 15 ect each increment raising the clock speed. when i set it to 5% being the lowest to try it out the cpu became unstable and when i rebooted it froze tryed again it it got stuck at the windows loading screen. i finally got to go back to the bios and turn it off the pc then became rock stable again.

what u guys think could be the reasons of this cpu being unstable from such a low clock raise? only went to 2.7-2.8 something.

    your advice is appreciated thanks

It's been a long time since I oc'd an Athlon, but I recall that you increase the hyper-transport channel (fsb). Since my mind is so fuzzy on the subject, you should probably read up on it before applying settings willy-nilly?
