    New monitor colour banding

    Hi,

I recently purchased a new LG 24" Widescreen 1080p HD Monitor, however am experiencing some problems with it.

On some high resolution images 1080p 24bit images I get some colour banding, same can be said for SD and HD videos. Plus on the Windows GUI

(check for the horizontal lines, not vertical as I stated)

Just wondering if someone knows what the problem actually is?

According to the LG website your monitor eliminates color banding when using HDMI with version 1.3 , if you don't use a cable with these specifications it may be part of the problem.

Where does it say that, as I have also tested with HDMI direct into PC.

    Default was DVI.

    But still the same

This is my model: LG W2442PA

You need to try that monitor on another computer and see if it does the same thing. If so, take it back.

BTW, I don't see anything wrong in your screen shots.

you're going to have to get your camera out to show us the problems.

the screenshots so far look fine here, maybe not on your monitor...
