Hooray for Amazon. I contacted them (bought the monitor from them in April) and they immediately agreed to replace it and I have an order number.
They did not ask for photos or anything. I told the support staff what had happened and she said she would send one out immediately. Should arrive on Thursday.
Tomorrow a courier will call at my workplace and pick up the broken one.
Samsung were quite nasty to deal with, kept trying to accuse me of stuff, kept putting me on hold etc.
    Hooray for Amazon:)

That is good news, John. Hopefully, the replacement will prove to be more durable.

Glad to see Amazon step up and cover it. After reading through the posts I was getting the feeling Samsung was going to give you the runaround.
It's nice to see some companies still have integrity. I've been selling on Amazon for several years and have found them to be a fair and good company. I'm happy it worked out for you. Fabe

    YES, so do I.
I could kick myself as I was going to get this: Review - NEC MultiSync EA231WMi Review | bit-tech.net

It's an IPS panel with excellent build etc. Would have been about £80 dearer (which I could have run to) than the Samsung at the time which is a TN panel and has let me down physically.
I figured I could put up with a TN panel as I would be viewing it from a distance therefore the angle problem/colour distortion and darkening would not be as noticeable.
This is true to an extent but I still couldn't move around much in bed to watch it.
My main monitor is a Dell 22408WFP which is an S-PVA screen. It kind of spoils you for a TN panel after that but the Samsung was okay image wise, although not as clear and vivid, I just hope the replacement doesn't self destruct:)

Wow, I would have sworn it would be the opposite. Good on Amazon, and shame on the people you spoke to at Samsung. They are one of the most likely to take care of their customers here when it comes to TV's. Good for you John, I'm happy for you. A Guy
