    Slow Mouse and mini freeze

    Hello !

I have just installed Seven(7100), I like it (it seems like a better Vista version :)) but I have some mouse issues, it is a bit hard to explain but when I rollover a link, a folder, a button ... it freezes for few millisecs.

Is it a video driver problem ? A mouse driver problem ?

Seven automatically installed the graphic driver

Here are my specifications : VGNFE21B
    Core Duo 1.66 GHz
    1 GB (DDR2 SDRAM)
    NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400

It is not great but should be sufficient, I had no problems with XP and was a bit slow with Vista but have not encountered this current problem.

Thank you very much in advance

    Hi oro77,
Can you give us the maker/model of your mouse?

    Finally I found the problem.
My laptop has 3 usb ports, I use 2 of them for external hard disks. For the last one, I use a usb hub for my mouse and an extra hard disk.
If I connect my mouse on the hub, the problem appears else (usb port only, without the hub) it's fine. But if I do so, I would have 2 hard disk connected on the hub (bad ?)

Possibly there is a bad usb port on the hub?

No it was operational when I had Vista. All usb ports on the hub don't seem to work on Seven (for the mouse)

It did the same to me. I had to instal the Microsoft Intellipoint v7 for windows 7 with the proper mouse model ( in case yours is microsoft one).

Seems "ghost" install HID mouse in properties to remove after install.
    i.e microsoft

(my english is too bad to show you the way...maybe someone knows it better)

    DEVMGR_SHOW_DETAILS (set to) 1
    DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES (set to) 1

Plug the mouse and remove similar ghost installs to free some ports

should be "variable environment"...setting to add.

    Thank you for your reply.

My mouse is not a microsoft one, it is a Logitech RX1000, it seems that Logitech does not provide any drivers for Windows 7 yet.

Did you tried to install vista drivers?

    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/63...=gb,en?osid=13
    that's a 59Mb download!!

or are you still in windows 7 basic "Hid input device"?

Me mouse is a wireless Laser directly plug on the notebook...seems yours is a cord plug. But it shouldn't make any difference.

Maybe tried to update the drivers in an automatic mode for your "generic usb 2.0 hub in properties...I'm using one eitheir (4 ports) and got no probs for 2 Hard drives and a printer and scan.

Mouse don't like usb 2.0 Hub in general, not enough power.

I tried to update automatically and also install Vista drivers but it did not change anything.

I tried another wireless mouse (Logicool, Logitech's name in Japan) and it has the same flaw.

I guess I need to wait until a patch to be released.
For the meantime, I directly put my mouse on the usb without using the hub and it works good.

(Merci beaucoup pour ton aide quand même ! )

I have the same problem with Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. I have all of the latest Windows Updates and driver updates in Device Manager.

When I change programs in the taskbar -- like going from Firefox to Microsoft Word (or any program, really), the mouse will freeze for about five seconds. If I am listening to music through Pandora, the music won't stop; but if I am listening to music on my harddrive, the music will stop and resume playback once the mini-freeze/mini-seizure is over.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks!
