    Laptop Hard Drive Upgrade?


    Hi

    I have this laptop below and I was wondering if I could install a bigger HDD into it? At the moment it has a 60gb HDD.

    I can not see why not.

    You will need to reinstall your OS, your link is Win XP.

    Your links look OK.

    Just check that you have Sata, not IDE.

    You might want to consider a 7200rpm drive which should give you a modest performance increase.

    I don't think the OP needs to reinstall his OS; he can just clone the drive into the new one to be installed into the system. Saves a lot of hassle and time. A product like Macrium or Acronis TrueImage Home would do the trick. And strollin is right, a 7200 RPM would be great for reduced access times.

    Okay according to the website below it has SATA interface for the HDD. So I assume that WD 160gb 7200rpm drive I listed above should be okay? the laptop is currently running Windows 7
