game disc load error

    game disc load error


    when i try to load a game it will not load and it is a pc dvd rom i it load a long time ago
    but not now any help by the ways the name of the disc is spellforce 2

    I would like to remind you that double posting or "bumping" is against forum rules, but now to the issue, is your disk scratched,scuffed, or flaking, most likely issue for a lot of optical media.

    yes but it is not bad like even i try it in my dads comp is loads in 4 seconds

    well it sounds like the cd/dvd drive in your computer is older and most likely more sensitive to some scratches. some drives, if good enough, will read the disk even with some scratches. the fast and quick solution is put the disk in your dads computer and copy it to another cd or to a flash drive

    in theory yes as long as you are using it for yourself as a "Backup" which should be legaly alowed.

    ok good i did that and installed it and now i am installing the extension pack of the game in which the disc is in worse conditon but yet it works fine on my computer why is that

    sounds strange, but optical media can seem elusive. skufs or light scratches are actualy easy for a drive to read than one or two larger scratches. this is becouse when you have a larger scratch it penetrates deeper into the plastic of the dvd/cd. and when the laser reads over the sectors with the scratch the light will be reflected/refracted diferently.

    but i thought sony optiaric are good it is annoying is there any ways to improve it's reading capabilities
