HP Dv 5215us Battery Power Settings Issues

I have had this laptop since 2006. I know that that is means it a old laptop but runs great. However, since I installed Windows 7 Pro onto it, back in 2009, the computer slows the CPU speed after 1 min when you unplug the computer then speeds up 3 min later and then repeats. What advanced options do I need to do to get this to run correctly on the battery.

Hi Beta there is a setting for Processor power management under the advanced options where you can set the Minimum processor state which is normally set to 5%. Personally I would just select the Balanced power option but if you are having problems when using your laptop you could then try other settings. such as High performance, bearing in mind that the battery may not last very long.

Yea, I have tried that before. The profiles do not fix this issues at hand.

Then it doesn't sound like a profile problem, bearing in mind that the cpu is most probably designed to change speed depending on usage, if this is not what is happening then I would suggest looking elsewhere like maybe the chip set drivers
