    problem burning DL DVD

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and recently got a GH22NS50 SATA DVD burner and haven't been able to burn any DL DVDs. I have not had any problems burning data to 4.7G DVD.

I have tried both Roxio and Nero. They both seem to stop just before the writing to the disc seems to start. The drive acts as it is writing and after 5 minutes I noticed that the progress bar hadn't moved from 1%

    Any suggestions?

You might try the Freeware program ImgBurn

I have updated the drivers and found either ImgBurn or CDBurnerXP is good for burning data to DL DVDs but I am still having problems burning ISO to DL DVDs. Both ImgBurn and CDBurnXP don't seem to bur ISO files to DL DVDs that well.

I've tried the native windows burn tool and it starts to burn and within 20 - 30 seconds it says its closing the disc. Ive tried a few of the ISO programs but they fail as well.

    Any Suggestions?

    Thanks

Welcome artoo ...i remember i bought that same DVD burner last year, and returned it due to a problem from LG regarding the "BluBird function".
That can cause issues when attempting to burn DVD-R/DVD+R and DVD DL.
    Just a thought:)

On a side note I use Nero 9.4.26.0 to burn DVD DL with 100% success.
If you need further help, I'll be here, ok:)

I will try Nero 9.4.26.0 and see if that will help. Do you think I should return it and get a SATA or IDE burner?

Nero updated to 9.4.39.0 by the way.
Personally, I would return that burner, but it's up to you artoo :)
I don't know what kind of hardware setup you have, but SATA would be my choice.
