I decided to do some checking in case I might be wrong, which is definitely possible on most occasions. In this case, I am left very confused AM3 sockets have 941 contacts, yet the chips use 938 pins. People have gotten AM3 chips to work in the AM2 sockets (940 contacts). I assumed the number of contacts=number of pins. Some research shows that your board can use the AM3 chip, but will more than likely require a bios update specifically for using AM3 chips. To make sure this update is available, look at the manufacturers website for it.
