I will let you know how it goes.
Sounds good, I am interested to see if a different keyboard makes a difference.

Just got back from Fry's, installed a new keyboard, rebooted and no luck. Still experiencing the same problems. FML.

Are your ports on the computer having problems USB 2.0? The mouse is a 1600 dpi mouse, would be lots of data for a USB 1.0 port.

Anyways.. the mouse works perfectly on a different computer? You just did a clean install?

Hrrmm...

1. Click the Start button, type regedit, and hit Enter.
2. In the Registry Editor, click the registry subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control.
3. In the details pane, locate the ServicesPipeTimeout entry, right-click that entry and then select Modify.

Note: If the ServicesPipeTimeout entry does not exist, you must create it by selecting New on the Edit menu, followed by the DWORD Value, then typing ServicesPipeTimeout, and clicking Enter.

4. Click Decimal, enter 1000, and then click OK
5. Restart the computer.

UPDATE: I hadn't tried my MX518 on my laptop, I just did and the laptop started having the same exact issues, I RETRIED my laptop mouse (Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000) on my desktop and it still had the same issues. Windows automatically updated drivers to my lappie when I plugged in the MX518 and then my laptop started acting exactly like my desktop.

NEW UPDATE: The laptop, even with the MX518 out, is completely messed up. It's showing the same symptoms as the desktop. ajskaf3uroahfoeaufhu

What does this mean? Is it the driver that Windows 7 automatically installs when plugged in?

Try uninstalling whatever driver you have installed, and go here and re-download the newest setpoint drivers.
