HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N ATA Device Wont read DVD's but reads CD.....

    i restarted it..... in my computer, the rom shows that it has identified the disk, but when i click on it i get a run time error....

    yes i got a nero disk with it but i ave no clue where it is now

    well you got me at the runtime error?
    Try running the automated fix from Microsoft(again sorry)
    Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media
    try running it and let it acept any changed it makes, and dont forget to restart,
    other than that I cant tell you anything about the runtime error

    I ran the test again, a dvd some how loaded, but it wont load again

    well I dont know what to say? verry strange. as a last opininon/advice i would uninstall the driverand the device from device manager and then try re-installing the driver. If you still cannot get it to work after that i dont know what to tell you.

    I ran the tool again .....

    and... voila it worked :)
