    HP Mini 210-1010NR ram upgrade

all my research points to this laptop using 200pin ddr2 up to PC2-5300 ram up to 2gb. i got that from this website: HP Mini 210-1000 200pin Laptop RAM Memory Upgrade

here's the laptop specs according to HP
HP Mini 210-1010NR PC Product Specifications HP Mini 210-1010NR PC - HP technical support (Finland - English)

but when i check with Speccy, it looks like it can take ddr3 up to PC2-6400.

i don't know what to believe and just need some help researching what the laptop can handle.

DDR2 and DDR3 aren't compatible, so what ever you have installed is the type of RAM you can use. Since it is netbook, chances are 2GB is the max.

Actually, it looks like its the other way around to me, but it is impossible to stick a DDR2 module in a DDR3 slot or vice-versa. I would look in the BIOS and see what that says for you RAM type. What ever the BIOS says you have is what you have, and need.

What speed is shown? DDR2 only goes so high and DDR3 only goes so low.

HP Mini 210-1010NR takes ddr2 according to hp. Looks like it has only 1 ram slot as well.

Dunno why Speccy says ddr3 when its not.

well, i opened it up and took a look at the ram sticky label. besides the random numbers, this was on there

    1gb 2rx16 pc2-6400s-666-13-a0

its pc2-6400...so is that going to be ddr2 or ddr3?

Looks like is it DDR2 800MHz RAM. The timings are 6-6-6-13. If you upgrade, try to get RAM with the same speed and timings.

This looks like what you need right here. It's not a bad price either, even for newegg.
