I had a hard drive which I wanted to reformat. So I back it up and went did a "quick format" on it.
At that point my 4tb which showed 3.6tb reformated to 1.63tb.
When I go into disk management Windows which previously saw 3.6 of 4tb only sees 1.63tb.

I have an Asus U46e-BAL5 and was really happy with the USB 3.0 port as a future proof technology. I didn't get to use it until I purchased a Western Digital My Passport Essential SE 1TB USB 3.0. Everything ran smoothly the first few months, but recently, things have been strange....
I have a Dell D430. I want to back up some files to a hard drive I have in an enclosure that hooks up by USB, My laptop does not see it in my computer. Ii have tried restarting and that does not help. What can I do to get it to recognize it?
