Or use diskpart and disk/partition list command to show you the harddrive setup?

I think I am going to throw in the towel. The geek in me wants to solve this and learn a bit about boot and partition settings but the practical side knows it's just a million times faster and easier to reinstall the os.

The RAID OS drive is two SSD's and I keep all work data on a RAID 1 seperatly so I don't realy have a reason to be inversing so much time into this.

Only issue remaining is to copy some user settings over to a seperate directory.

Thanks for the input and time. Hopefully I'll be back up and running in an hour or two

Sure ... whatever works for you!

At one time, I had a raid 5 setup with spare drives ready to step in. Spent way too much time rebuilding the raid. With Windows 7 Image Backup, I regularly and automatically update an image of the entire OS on a second hard drive in my tower. I could easily do the same to an external hard drive if I had one. Should the OS hard drive crash, I only need to replace it with a new bare hard drive and use the DVD to restore the current image, something I have done. Up and running again in 30 minutes or so. I have no desire to go back to raid for my personal home usage.

Yes, please let us know when you have it fixed! We are happy to help in any way we can.

Cheers!
Robert
