No no my friend, we are not in disagreement... I only stated the fact that MY HP came with recovery DVD, which states on it that it is for RECOVERY of a failed system, pop it into the DVD drive, start up and sit back whilst it recovers said system back to factory original, no input from you is neccessary... + HP's recovery partition, the partition I promptly deleted !!! and yes, maybe newer systems have a different method of recovery... I was unfortunate in the fact that I purchased my HP by credit card on the web, and a friend who was visiting China brought it out to me.... unfortunate in the fact that the power supply went 'tits-up' after 6 months, when I took it to an HP agent in Chengdu, they couldn't locate a similar power pack.. HP had NO such part number in their database of spares... I could get MANY smaller ones, less amps, same power, etc: In frustration, I tracked down the Chinese maker of the power pack, and they very kindly, and VERY cheaply gave me an identical replacement, with the HP part numbers on, that HP said didn't exist !!!!! Latterly, I sold that on, ans swore NEVER to give HP ONE more cent.. Ha haaaa, the HP agent even tried to charge me 900Yuan for actually LOOKING through the database... can you image what I told him ( in Chinese, of course...)
