Installed Win7 twice by accident (two diff partitions)

Dont ask me how, but I ended up installing Windows7 twice on two seperate partitions. I now have two "Windows 7" options when my boot screen comes up. I obviously only ment to install it once so I want to get rid of the second Windows 7 option on the boot screen (and the bootscreen itself aswell actually).

How do I remove the Windows7 installation thats on partition "D"?

Hello Rets, and welcome to Seven Forums.

While running the Windows 7 that is installed on the first C: partition, you can removed the second Windows 7 on the D: partition using this tutorial below.

Afterwards, you could format the D: partion from within the Computer window to use to place backups on, or delete the D: partition and extend C: back into it to have one larger drive again.

Hope this helps,

Shawn, one question?

If the C drive and the D drive are seperate HDD's, is it still possible to marge them together to make 1?

No, not by the method I described above. That would only be if it was two partitions on the same hard drive.

If the drives are about the same size and speed, you could format them and set them up in a RAID 0 configuration in BIOS for the drives to have them act as one combined drive. Of course this would mean that you would have to wipe everything out and start over though.

Why don't you check if both options work? Work as in if you can boot from both of them.
