Win 7 installer hanging on backsplash screen?

Hi all, new to windows 7, wanted to get into it a while back but didnt make the first betas. Got my download of the RC the other day, and am proceeding to (or trying to at least) install now.

Is it normal for the setup to sit on the back-splash window for at least 5 minutes before popping up the language selection? I thought at first something went wrong, but eventually it moved on, but now is sitting on "setup is starting" and has been there for about 5 minutes as well.

I am installing on to a freshly wiped hard drive, and it is the only one in the system.

Here's my system specs
Asus A8V deluxe motherboard
AMD 64 bit 3200+ 2ghz processor
2gb ram
80gb sata hard drive (will have a second after installation completes)
Nvidia 7800GS graphics card
Soundblaster gaming audio card (i forget the exact one)

So far the only problem is the speed and i was wondering if anyone else had come across the extremely long delays between steps.

Also, will i be able to run the 64 bit version well on this setup?

No, I installed many builds numerous times on 2 different machines and they've never hung or stalled out. It's rare I think, but it happens as I've read others saying something about it. I think they let it sit and eventually it does install. Be patient I guess.

Yeah, you could benefit using x64. Could use a little more ram, but you'll be fine.

Letting it sit eventually got things rolling and once the install started it was indeed fast.

Running good so far, and can run almost everything now with no problems, only issue I am having is finding software for my G11 keyboard, other than that, its gravy!
