32bit to 64bit with same licence

Hi. I recently installed W7 32bit to my pc without realising that i should have installed 64bit. If i do a clean install of 64bit from an ISO image can i still use the same licence key. Thanks in advance

Yes you can do that. You may have to call MS but that is considered legal to try both 32 and 64 to see which you perfer. Good luck to you with your new install

Each time this is asked, I am more surprised then the previous time. The license keys have worked on either platform since Vista's release, roughly four years ago.

Now, on to something productive...the USB method works very well, and even speeds up the install process. I followed some guides on here and was able to have a 4 GB USB Flash Drive that can install any version of Windows 7, either platform.
