Windows 7: Why can't I do a clean install?

Boot into Win7 DVD Repair console, accept any offered repair, then if that doesn't start it up boot back in to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times. It should automate System Restore in Startup Repair but if not then run System Restore from the Recovery Tools list on booted DVD Repair console. Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times

What was the result of memtest86 CD test run overnight as suggested? How about the HD diagnostics/repair CD scan. Testing the hardware in such situations is critical but no matter how many times I've urged you to do these there is no reply, or no further questions asked if you are unsure.

It's not that i have ignored them. The memtest shows that nothing is wrong, i have tried countless times to use start up repair but the results are always the same (nothing is wrong), i have dl'd multiple win7 discs in hope that one will "work" normally on my comp. I have tried safe mode methods and everything to install all the drivers, but it wont finish the proccess. diagnostics show nothing. Tests say that i have to restore the comp, i do so, only to be at the same problem as before. The computer is -beyond- slow making EVRYTHING YOU HAVE SAID SO MUCH HARDER.
How am i supposed to do everything at once, you make it sound soo easy (which i like) but this is so much harder. I have 'tried' out everything you guys have thrown at me now and im giving up. Been working on the damn thing for 2 weeks now. Made alot of progress but now it is beyond me.

I thank you all so much for taking your time to help me.
Sorry i didnt respond to every littlr detail, but now i dont think i have the ability to do this anymore. So thanks. I'll refer back to this thread if i need it later on.

Did you get it started up? Boot into DVD Repair console on second screen, see if it finds an installation to repair, then either accept repair or click through to Run Startup Repair 3 times with reboots, then System Restore if necessary to before drivers were installed.

No time to quit. There's enough groundwork laid now that we should figure out the problem soon enough - mostly likely the video card but other possibilites need to be eliminated.

Alright, i'm ready to fully cooperate.
From your PM, did you want me to first reinstall the OS or my HD? (if HD, how?) then i should check optional driver updates?

I'm thinking i have to start from scratch :l so you tell me everything in order so i don't get them mixed up/confused and we can end this alot faster.

I'm also still confused as to why the windows boot disx itself is slow as hell.

After nothing worked to get installed, you moved HD to your Mom's computer and installed there, correct?

Have you moved HD back to your computer and actually gotten it to run yet?

If so, what are the exact problems now?

Moved my HD baxk, now windows won't even load. So i guess i can't transfer HDs as it will DL theira and not mine. So right now the problem is not loading. I assume a reinstallation?

Did it ever start up in your computer after installing Win7 in your Mom's computer? What is the furthest it got?

Have you run Startup Repair from DVD to try to start it on your computer? Startup Repair

The farthest it got was the windows logo screen. After About a 35 seconds, the logo froze and then the screen went black a minute later.

Running a start up repair right now (it gave me the option to startup repair or load normally) without the win7 boot disc.

And what is this? Startup repair loaded >faster< than usual

Startup Repair will run better from the DVD. If it fails now, boot the DVD,click Repair my Computer on second screen, then click through to Recovery Tools list to run Startup Repair.

Try to boot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 at bootup one more time.

If it fails, then boot back into the DVD, select Custom install, then Drive Tools to format partition and try install again.

If install fails, run memtest86 CD overnight, report back results tomorrow.

Look at the HD make so you can download and burn to CD HD diagnostics CD to run full scan next. Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities
