Installation hanging on completing installation

    gregrocker the ram voltage was a suggestion off the net 1.5v to 1.65 no damage done? everything is back to default
    The win7 is shop bought brand new dvd disc and valid not downloaded
    Im attempting your HDD repair

    After finishing the diskpart clean all I we reformat the drive in the installation in windows 7, select the partition? do I instal any device driver at that point?
    I Have turned on AHCI in the bios

    I would as you have said above, but I would only use 1 stick of ram memory in the first slot.

    The driver is installer-complete, with newer arriving quickly via Windows Updates.

    The installer would prompt you for SATA drivers only if it needs them at the "Where do you want to Install WIndows" screen. Do you have reason to believe drivers are needed at Completing Installation?

    I ask as its the only sucess I have had at getting past the completing instal stage!

    Make sure you are connected to the internet with your ethernet cable. During install I will ask if you want to download latest updates. Choose that install option.

    Diskpart cleaning succeeded but for the partition it states "The arguments for this command are not valid"

    "select disc #"
    "create partition primary"
    "active"

    you can also change the size if you want but i forgot that command.
    Type any random letters in diskpart in DOS and you should get a list of all commands for diskpart
