    Can't install Win 7 Ultimate to sata3 riad0 on X58 UD7

I am a noob to this forum and hope someone piont me in the right direction.
Just bought 2 x WD 640GB AAEX sata3 drives, and I can't install to the raid0. I have tried selecting the .inf file via USB and the DVD during the information gathering stage but no matter what I do it won't even start coppying the install files.
I have been running no problems on the sata 2 raid0, even had the disk partitioned.
On first impressions the sata 3 configuration was a breeze, but it just wont work.

Am I missing an initilize step or is the raid driver just not installing?

    Hope someone can help.

Try inserting the RAID drivers at link on "Where do you want to install Windows" step during install.

Unless you need the extra space, the downside of losing everything if you lose one HD should be considered. Win7 is also somewhat allergic to RAID installs as we see here all the time.

Thanks, I couldnt even install to a single drive on the sata 3 port so I went back to the standard sata port and installed no problem. I was just experimenting for the first time with sata 3.

But even on the standard sata port this thing flies with the new drives, and so it should, I've spent a lot of time and money on this new games machine.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Hello Kinggo, welcome to Seven Forums!

I'm just wondering, do you have AHCI enabled in the BIOS; so those drives are doing really good?
