    Windows Seven 32 Bit Help

Hi, Just done a clean Install of windows seven as realised before I was running as the administrator ( not good ) anyway before I clean Installed all was well, I was able to play my game zuma's revenge without any problem what so ever. However since creating a standard account and downloading my game from the standard account It has not been able to play at all, Then I done compatible settings with windows xp sp2 and the game play's well. But now my avira antivirus reports this 1 warning, Anyone any ideas what's going on? Starting the file scan: Begin scan in 'C:\' C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\020cc2e91c6be79e38913f525cc2805c\BITC617.tmp [0] Archive type: CAB (Microsoft) --> x86_netfx-dfshim_dll_31bf3856ad364e35_6.2.7600.16513_none_40cecc845ce1dd88\dfshim.dll [WARNING] The file could not be written!

When you created a new account did you create a standard user or did you create it as an administrator?

It would be best to change it to an administrator account, to do this you will need to log in as the administrator and then go to users and accounts and change your account type to administrator.

You will find that by having a standard account you will be limited when accessing areas of the c:\ which is probably what you are seeing.

So I should have just one account and thats the admin account? I thought this was bad practise? A clean install again is no problem If needed, I have a retail copy of windows seven.

    Hello royal tyrant.

Do the clean install but use the account that is created during the installation process; there's always the option to elevate the UAC setting so that it will be a better safe-guard; have a look at this tutorial at the link below.

User Account Control - UAC - Change Notification Settings

There is always the option to create an elevated shortcut to run something with elevated privileges without a UAC prompt; have a look at this one below.

And here Is my update, Clean Install and done what was said here and all Is fantastic, Had to use the phone to activate with microsoft and usually I am fine with the automated service, Not today though, So for the first time I spoke with someone and the women who activated my windows was very, very, polite and had me activated within a minute, And I took part In the survey afterwards, Was the least I could do.
