Can't boot into vista after downloading windows 7

    Can't boot into vista after downloading windows 7


    i literally just installed it 5 minutes ago and im on windows 7 now but i cant go back to vista, i would like to have it set up as a multi-boot.

    Hello Riley, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    Doing a startup repair on the Vista drive or partition may be able to restore it for you.

    Afterwards, these tutorials below may be useful if you get a "recovered" name added to the OS in the Windows Boot Manager, or would like to change which OS you have startup by default.

    Dual Boot - Change OS Name in Windows Boot Manager

    Default Operating System - Change Default Boot OS

    i cant even boot into vista to do that, it automaticly boots into windows seven without showing a bootloader.

    In the tutorial, you will see that you can do this from booting from your Vista installation DVD to run the Startup Repair to add Vista back. Afterwards, you can use the other tutorials to adjust as needed if you wanted to.

    use easybcd and reload the vista boot manager add your vista partition to the available OS and set either one as default and your away.
