Dual boot with upgrade Win 7 from XP

    Hi All.

I'm running XP pro and would like to know if I can use a Win 7 pro upgrade DVD to make a dual boot system.

I would not be keeping it that way for long but I'm not happy going completely over to Win 7 in one go

Note that you can access files between OS's using Explorer, even include XP folders in Win7 libraries by rightclicking them. This way you don't even have to copy them over until you are ready to fully migrate.

When you are ready to remove XP it is covered also as Step 3 in BFK's excellent tutorial: Dual Boot : Create Partitions Using PWBD

One caveat with the dual boot when XP is installed first. Be sure you follow this tutorial or else you'll lose all of your restore points in Win 7.

    Been there, done that.
