windows 7 Not Genuine

i installed windows 7 on a partition on my hard drive so i could dual boot xp and windows 7 just in case i didn't like windows 7 this partition was made using
EASEUS PARTITION MASTER (if it really matters)


everything was fine i resized the partition from 20gb to 40gb
after doing so i restarted my pc to boot into windows 7...everything went fine until i logged into my account to be met by and ugly blue colored background that said "this copy of windows is not genuine" and i also now had no task bar or start button.

so i opened up task manger clicked "new task" typed in "explorer.exe" and my task bar popped up in the original gray windows 95 theme i tried to click my computer but was met by an error that said "No such interface supported" i tried clicking everything in sight to only be met by the annoying error sound and statement quoted above

so i then decided to browse using task manager (which actually worked) and that is when i noticed that the drive letter in which windows 7 ultimate is installed on was now "D:" instead of the original "F:" i tried to open regedit/regedt32 a 1000 times to try an change the drive letter through there but is just wont open i just get an error like the one stated above

i pretty sure all i need to do is change my drive letter back to F: but it not as easy as i thought it would be i tried to change it through windows xp but that didn't work any ideas?

What 7 build did you install?
What are you hardware specs, enough to run Aero? Did you see Aero the first boot after the installation?

1) Have you actually inputted a product key and tried to activate/ validate? Go to microsoft.com/genuine and click on the "validate windows" link and let it do its thing.

2) If 1) doesnt help, take a look at the solution on this thread.

Not Genuine after partition change

Is the drive letter that Windows 7 is installed showing as D in Windows 7 or in XP. Just wondering because when dual booting usually the OS you are running at the time would be the C drive. So on XP it will see the drive it is installed on as C and same with any other OS on your PC. Second I would delete the Windows 7 drive so it is unallocated space, then put the DVD in and install to the unallocated space and it will automatically install correctly for you. Even if you haven't put a key in, you should still have 30 days to try Windows 7 before it goes to the not genuine screen. It has to be something that Easus did to your XP drive. If you made an Image of your PC before you made any changes I would suggest reverting back to that and then using Partition Wizard or Paragon Partition Manager Free Paragon Partition Manager Free Edition - Download Good luck and keep us posted. I am sure we can work you through this problem.

Boot Paragon Rescue CD to change the slipped Drive Letter back to correct letter:
Moving Win7 Partition to Another Drive

If this fails, place Win7 install DVD in tray,

Cntrl Alt Del access Task Manager to start a New task,

type in run box: d:\setup (replace d: with your OD letter)

to run Repair Install

the partitioned that i installed windows 7 on was showing as "F:" both inside windows xp and in windows 7 It never showed as "C:"

rather windows xp drive letter was "C:" and windows 7 drive letter was "F:" both in windows 7 and xp
the drive letter never changed even when i was logged in windows seven it said "F:" NOT C:
But now the Drive letter for windows 7 shows as D: when i log in windows 7 but it still shows as "F" when logged in windows xp

Example

Before: RESIZING PARTITION

when logged in "WINDOWS XP"

XP drive letter = "C:"
Windows 7 Drive letter = "F:"
....................................................


When logged in "WINDOWS 7"

XP drive letter = "C:"
Windows 7 drive letter = "F:"

....................................................

AFTER RESIZING PARTITION

WHEN LOGGED IN "WINDOWS XP"

XP drive letter = "C:"
Windows 7 drive letter = "F:"

When logged in "WINDOWS 7"

Xp drive letter = "C:"
Windows 7 drive letter = "D:" BUT IT SHOULD SAY "F:"

and this is when all my problems started

I gave you the fix for slipped drive letter. We help fix it here all the time.

If Paragon Rescue Kit can't make the necessary registry changes, then the Repair Install will.

As suggested earlier, Easeus is not compatible with Win7. Use free Partition Wizard bootable CD in the future - it never fails.
