If PW CD can't safely shrink C as much as you want, the tool I use is Perfect Disk 10 Trial Verision.

After defragging for compactness (from drop-down menu), rightclick on C drive to choose Offline Defrag>System and it will move System Files safely.

Bare Foot Kid,

Have checked out the links and will give this a whirl.
The Partition Wizard website has plenty of useful info - good link.

Looking at the link screenshots, one option is to boot the PWBD in "Safe Mode".
I am not sure I understand Safe Mode in this context.
Is this what you would recommended.

Hello again Digory.

No, I would only use safe mode if I had no other option.

Bare Foot Kid,

Having spot of difficulty with getting the ISO file to boot.
Downloaded from here:

BEST FREE Partition Manager Software for Windows supports all 32-bit & 64 bit Windows No-server OS.

Set the bios boot order to cd/dvd first - the tray rattled but no boot.
Went into the standard W7 boot so wondering if my cd burn not good.
Have I missed something here with the ISO ?

As PW CD autostarts, you surely have a bad burn if other disks can boot in your OD.

Try burning at 4x speed with Imgburn - it never fails.

You have to use ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD.

Will use an ISO burner and try again.

Weird disk partitions and low space
Hi, I got an old laptop and am going to give it to my son for Christmas. When I booted it up I noticed the disk partitions were strange - there were many of them and almost no space in the OS (C:) partition. What should I do to get them in a more "normal" state? I get nervous about messing...

Missing HD Space after removing partitions
I upgraded my Inspiron from a 320/5400 to a 500/7200 and turned the 320 into an external HDD, after removing the partitions via Disk Manager through Windows 7, only 229GB is available. When I open it in Disk Manager now, it only shows it as a 229GB Capacity HDD and no other partitions. Any ideas?
