On XP, 7 used to show up on E: drive & D: was taken up by my Optical. So i just changed optical to something else & then 7 to D:
So now which ever OS i boot into, shows up on C: & the other on D:
I guess this is the best i can get right now without blowing up my OS.

I'll try installing 7 from within XP next time & see if that helps =)

Thanks for all the help guys.

For a different drive letter you simply substitiute that in most commands to see the same results when a drive letter has to be specified. But now you have each second OS seen as one letter.

At one time the optical drive "had to be" set to D only. That was a mandate when optical drives were first becoming available and program installers were written specifically to that.

Since the old Legacy days all that has seen some changes of course where the drive letter assigned simply has to remain the same especially when having the disk in the drive is required mainly seen with various pc games.
