    Downgrade from windows8 to W7

I got a beta version of "Windows8" from a friend to try out and it uses way too much CPU and dogs down my system. Is there any way to downgrade back to W7 Ultimate without having to reload all of my programs and drivers?

    Screenshots??

Not saying I don't believe you, but none of the normal sources have mentioned anything about even a pre-alpha build.

Anyway, on to your question, seeing as how none of us have used W8, not sure if there is some way that you can do a system restore or something. Odds are, you'll have to format and reinstall.

Wipe your HD before reinstalling Win7 because you may be infected.

Well, that is just what he called it. it is really just an amped up version of windows 7 Ultimate (xTreme), with some weird Lord of the Rings theme.

I sorta figured that. I was just givin' you a bit of a hard time.

Your best bet is to read the post above your last one and the post below your first one and proceed accordingly.

Oh, and don't believe everything this friend of yours tells you anymore. Next thing you know we'll be reading about y'all in the funny papers...

Yeah, Windows 7 Extreme edition (comes with the xTreme theme from WinCustomize, hence the wierd LoTR desktop) is most definitely not Win8 - it's just a Win7 hacked to bits. Other than being fairly illegal to download in most western countries, it also uses the paradox crack to do OEM bootloader activation, which is likely to fail with the next major WGA release (I'm guessing it'll just go out with SP1) which is also not something Microsoft would look highly upon . It doesn't look compromised with anything, mind you, but it would still behoove you to wipe the disk you installed that to and do a clean install just in case...

You know, one might be forced to ask why you're installing "beta" software on your system, then wonder how to save "programs and drivers".

I've told hundreds of users, and now I'm telling you.... If you don't want to go thru the trouble of restoring the system, don't do anything that might cause a NEED to restore your system. In other words, if the programs and drivers were so valuable, why install "beta" software?
