    Upgrade or clean install

    Hi,

So i know from experience that generally upgrading is a lot worse than clean installs. Things never seem to work with my after an upgrade rather than a clean install.

So my question is that if i want to keep everything the same but want to install the new OS how would i do this with the minimum amount of grief?

I have Windows 7 Build 7000 at the moment, and wanted to finally go to the RC or any newer release...

But i wont want to have to get another Hard Drive and manually copy files from new to old, there surely has to be an easier way?

    Thanks a lot

    Hi,

It might not be 100% what you're after but your post inspired me to write the following tutorial

Windows Easy Transfer - Transfer To & From Computers

Hope it can help you :)

EDIT: Basically what i want to do if update the OS, but IMO a clean install is better, but i dont want the hassle of copying files over manually, (aka getting another hard drive, installing the new OS there, then copy files from old to hard ect...)
