    dual boot problems

I have a dual boot system. One partition is windows 7 the other is xp.

Recently I bought a new printer and the software installed with no problems on windows 7.

When I booted over the windows xp I installed the software but after I rebooted xp would not come back up. It is stuck at the splash screen with the the bar just scrolling on and on.

I did a system restore and it fixed it but again when after the software installed and I rebooted I got the same thing problem.

So after that I tried using msconfig to troubleshoot and somehow managed to turn off the system restore function so now I can't even restore back.

Any thoughts on what I can do to fix this. I have a full system restore but it is about a month old.

    Thanks

I'd use the System Image to restore (if that's what you've got) or an XP Repair Install.

Then unzip the XP printer driver to the desktop and browse to it from the Device Manager after unhiding Printer in View tab. See if it will pick up and install the driver alone.

If not, see if there is a better XP software package on the Printer's Support Downloads webpage.
