    Page filing

enable to view hidden files and you'll probably see you have a page filing folder on your drive. if so get to my computer properties. advanced system settings>advanced tab>performance settings>advanced tab (again)>select virtual memory "change">select drive to be formatted and highlight "NO Paging File" and "SET", hit okay>hit apply> hit okay, (closing performance options> hit apply and okay closing system properties. restart pc and try to format now.

Okay I liked April's post, and kinda stopped there until the disclaimer came up at the end saying "don't delete files"... So, I turned the computer off unplugged the drive and booted. plugged the drive back in after getting into windows. System Flag gone was able to format, even though i was just trying to encrypt (you can't do one if you can't do the other).

Thank you guys for chit chatting.

Please post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Management drive map and listings:

    1. Type Disk Management in Start Search box.
    2. Open Disk Mgmt. window and maximize it.
    3. Type Snipping Tool in Start Search box.
    4. Open Snipping Tool, choose Rectangular Snip, click New, draw a box around full drive map and all listings.
5, Save Snip, attach using paper clip in Reply Box.

Tell us what is on each partition and what you'd like to see done with each.

    Welcome to Seven Forums:)

You should have started your own thread.

You should be able to, once again windows will see system files on it and may not let you. Download and install Partition Wizard to format it.
