Hi I'm getting this same problem when trying to install Windows 7 and Windows 8 from an external cd/DVD drive.
When in the "where do you want to install windows?" step I get the following error:
"Windows cannot be installed to disk 0 partition 1. (show details)
When I click on this it shows:
"windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
When I click next it shows:
"setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information."
I have tried all of the steps mentioned in this forum but I am still getting the same error. Can anyone help me please?
    Thanks.
