7 Is on,but Vista remains

Hi all-haven't posted lately because I haven't broken anything in quite some time.Anyway,I threw a copy of 7 on a lappy running Vista, and after the dog and pony show of drivers and Acer crapware,it's running pretty darn good on 1 Gig of Ram.Problem is,the install didn't delete everything from the previous OS like it has in the past.Disk Clean-up Utility allowed me to remove "previous versions",gaining me @ 32 Gigs, but a crap load of data remains-presumably the some 125 programs (previous owner was the King of software redundancy),and all of the usual music, pix, etc. Any way to track down and delete this stuff? It's one drive formatted as a single partition, just as it was prior to installation. Not sure why this wasn't all deleted,as I've not had this problem performing the same operation in the past. Anyone?

Easy solution: Do a clean install of win7. Boot from win7 dvd, delete existing partition, format hdd, create partitions, install win7. This will remove everything on your computer including the crap and YOUR data, so backup everything valuable before doing this. You'll need to reactivate windows, I think you have a retail version there so shouldnt be a problem and reinstall drivers and apps.

Difficult solution: remove all unwanted programs with something like PC decrapifier, remove left over files and folders manually, delete obsolete registry entries with CCleaner and at the end still have a lot of junk left over and a computer which probably runs sluggishly.

Thanks Bill

Agreed that's the easy route, but this is an Enterprise copy and I'm trying to avoid "spending" another activation. Not to mention the hoops to jump through to get 7 to run on this thing,as Acer has no Win 7 drivers as of yet.Just trying to help a friend that needs a cheap lappy for internet/email and light work.Vista on a Gig is an exercise in futility Currently no sluggish problems at all

1) You just need to explain the situation to your company and I'm sure they wouldnt mind helping- also I'm not sure how reactivating on the same hardware counts as another activation.

2) I dont know what model computer this is but Acer has plenty of win7 drivers. You just need to visit their support page, select your model then download the drivers. FYI, vista drivers work perfectly well in win7, they may just need to be installed in compatibility mode. And are you telling me youur company has licensed win7 without ensuring the right drivers exist?

Not My Company

A friend has the Enterprise and gave me a copy to use for " a couple of installs" for family or friends.Acer does not have 7 drivers for this model, and I've used compatibility mode to install the ones needed. There's some additional Acer crapware you need to install to get keyboard and wireless working-In short,I picked a poor candidate in terms of hardware for this "good deed",and I've got way more time wrapped up in this than was anticipated.I performed this install identical to several others, and can't understand why the drive wasn't deleted as it has been in the past. Not that it matters now. Thanks for your help and suggestions

Second monitor remains black
I just upgraded my graphics card from the AMD Radeon 6670 up to the AMD Radeon 7850 (by XFX), and since then, my second monitor is remaining black. It is detected and I can drag windows over into the screen, but I cannot see them. The 7850 does not have a VGA port so I got a VGA to DVI converter...
